Keeping alerts safe, private and useful
CarAlert exists to help drivers hear about genuine safety issues with their vehicle — privately, and without shaming anyone. These rules keep it that way.
In an emergency, call 112 or 999 first
- Flagging a genuine safety or courtesy issue with a vehicle — lights left on, a door or boot open, a flat or under-inflated tyre, an insecure load.
- Letting an owner hear about that issue privately, so they can act on it.
- Reminding you before your NCT and motor tax fall due.
- Shaming or reporting bad driving, parking rows, or road-rage grievances.
- Personal disputes, harassment, or getting back at someone.
- Debt collection, or trying to contact or identify a specific known person.
- Any attempt to find out who owns or watches a vehicle.
