CarAlert

Report an abusive alert or account issue

If something on CarAlert breaks our rules — an abusive alert, a misused account, or a privacy concern — here is how to raise it and what happens next.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 112 or 999 first

This page is for reporting misuse of the service. It is not an emergency channel. If there is an immediate risk to life or safety, contact the emergency services on 112 or 999 before anything else.

How to report

In the app (preferred)

Use in-app support

Sign in and open support to report an alert or account. Reporting from within the app lets us review the item without revealing anyone’s identity, and keeps your report tied to your account securely.

By email

Email our support team

If you cannot sign in, email support@caralert.ie. Please do not include sensitive personal data or anyone’s private details.

This support address is a placeholder pending the confirmed operator and domain.

What to include

To help us act quickly, include a reference where you can:

  • The reference number shown on the alert or item, if there is one.
  • The account or vehicle the report relates to (your own nickname is fine).
  • A short description of what happened and why it breaks the rules.
  • When it happened, if you know.

Please do not try to identify the other person or include their personal details — we do not need them, and our rules prohibit sharing personal data.

What happens next

You get a tracking number

Every report is acknowledged with a tracking number so you can follow up.

We review privately

We assess the report against our rules without disclosing anyone’s identity to anyone else.

We act if needed

Content may be removed and accounts limited or removed. Serious matters may be referred to the appropriate authorities.

A note for this early version

For the current version there is no public form here — reports go through in-app support or the email address above. See our safety & community rules for what is and isn’t allowed.
